Reading and Responses15 CERPs Read Counseling the Nursing Mother, 5th Edition, by J. Lauwers and A. Swisher, published by Jones & Bartlett, 2011. Answer 30 questions in their entirety and submit to instructor. You can use the 2005 edition if you are unable to obtain the 2011 edition, however, you may not use any edition earlier than 2005. Fee: $150 Infant Challenges I15 CERPs Seven common infant challenges that face lactation consultants. Research and respond to questions regarding each challenge, using current texts, articles or the internet. The conditions are: Ankyloglossia, fussy/colicky infant, Down Syndrome, latch problems, preterm infant, lactose overload/imbalance, and alternative feeding methods. Fee: $150 Infant Challenges II15 CERPs Seven common infant challenges that face lactation consultants. Research and respond to questions regarding each challenge, using current texts, articles, and the internet. The conditions are: Cleft lip and/or palate, food intolerance, late preterm infant, oral motor dysfunction/sucking problems, poor weight gain/FTT, hyperbilirubinemia/jaundice, and hypertonia. If these CERPs are being submitted to the IBLCE in order to qualify for the exam, the completed unit(s) must be received by LEC no later than four weeks prior to submitting your application to the IBLCE for the exam in order to receive your certificate in a timely fashion. If using these CERPs to recertify, the completed unit(s) must be received by LEC no later than four weeks prior to submitting your application for recertification.
